Oh lets go there. Did you say chicken? Somewhere in my distant memory I remember being called a chicken. It must have been prior to the Civil War!! But fear not Bluepride, Chicken may be nice but nothing takes the place of hot Beef!! (or pork for that matter!!!) My honey and I both love meat. He likes beef and I like pork. We always make sure that we have enough to go around!!!
Oh my God. Let me shut the hell up!!!

Domestic Partner Tax Reform Introduced In Senate by 365Gay.com Newscenter Staff

(Washington) Legislation introduced Wednesday in the Senate would put domestic partners and spouses on the same page of the federal tax code when it comes to employer-provided health care benefits. Under current law, employers are subject to payroll tax, and employees to income and payroll taxes, for the value of covering a domestic partner. "Our tax code should help all families – traditional and non-traditional,” said Gordon Smith (R-Ore.) who is sponsoring the bill along with Sens. Maria Cantwell (D-WA) and Joseph Lieberman (Ind.-Conn.). "Lower taxes help the family budget and this is a great opportunity to cut taxes," said Smith at a Capitol Hill news conference. An increasing number of American employers provide health benefits to their employees’ domestic partners, including over 50 percent of Fortune 500 companies. But what is seen as a flaw in the federal tax code keeps domestic partners from receiving the tax advantage as a spouse receiving the same health insurance. In addition, the bill's supporters say, current law penalizes employers that provide domestic partner health benefits by increasing their taxes and adding significant administrative burdens. The Tax Equity for Domestic Partner and Health Plan Beneficiaries Act would eliminate the inequity and encourage employers to increase health plan coverage by reducing administrative burdens. "It is long past time for Congress to provide tax fairness for all," said Cantwell. Lieberman called it an issue of fundamental fairness. "That is why corporate America, the civil rights community, and legislators from all parties can come together to support this common-sense solution," Lieberman said. A House version of the bill was introduced on March 29 by Rep. Jim McDermott (D-Wash.)
If I may gloat for a few seconds...personally I'm happy that the 3 mutts who are responsible for the tragic shooting of two, young NYPD Officers have all been apprehended without incident in the last 48 hours or so. A BIG thanks to the Law Enforcement authorities in the great state of Pennsylvania for their diligence and dedication to duty, which resulted in the latest two apprehensions. A combined effort by NYPD and various agencies in Pennsylvania, ATF, FBI and others, found these mutts and are currently in the process of bringing them to justice.
One Officer has returned home to recuperate from his gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, Officer Russell Timoshenko is on life support and from what I've read, no brain activity and paralyzed. It is just a matter of time before life support is removed and the natural occurence will follow. A tremendous loss to NYPD and LEO's all over the country. These two cops acted heroically on a "routine" car stop but were shot in cold blood. Real cops, real police work, period. I hope Police Officer Yan recovers fully and is awarded honors for his bravery, returning fire after he was hit and bleeding. He and his partner never had a chance.
But I'm happy to see that the individuals involved in the shooting of these two guys are in custody and will face justice.

Well, I tried to post this about a week and a half ago when it was really fresh news, but the computer burped and it didn't post, and then I had to go somwewhere.
Before I post the good thing that happened, I'll first observe tat it's kind of sorry no one has had anything "good' to post til now since mid-summer.
Anyway. when I tried to do this before I had gotten a all from my youngest daughter informing me that her boyfriend of three years had proposed to her. (She said yes by the way).
My future son-in-law is a half foot taller than I at 6'11". I guess he can protect my little girl okay.
He also went all ot recreating their first date even including finding a print (the 70mm theatrical type) of a somewhat obscure movie they saw on their first date and renting out a theatre to show it in. Very impressive.
I'm really happy for tem. They're great together, and he's a relly good guy.
wow....I've never heard a computer burp before... . Mine has hiccuped and screeched though! Anyway, yes Jim, you're right. It's been pretty scarce that no one has posted in this thread for a while. But it seems to me that the amount of postings has been a little down lately, which is another story . I admit that, personally, it's discouraging to me.
But...... this is great news! Congratulations on your daughter and future son-in-law!!! Talk about something good happening!!!! You must be walking on cloud 9!!! You're going to make a good father-in-law and your daughter is going to be as proud of you as you are of her! And what an added bonus! The new son-in-law is actually taller than you??? That's amazing!! Congratulations to your daughter, her fiance and to you!!!!
Hey Bigjim. Congrats to out to you and your family. They often say that apples don't fall far from the tree. You've made great babies who have made great choices. May they have a long and happy life together.
Well since not much has been posted through the summer on here, I'll drag out my news into two postings. Though another reason to do so is that it's not a done deal yet. But within the next few days, it looks like something awesome will happen for me.....something I've wanted for quite some time. In fact, as I type this, I'm about to head out the door to go check up on things with it. I've put in a lot of work getting ready for it, and can't wait until it's for real. Stay tuned for the details........
I wonder what it could be?? You had to go out to check on it, so I'm thinking maybe a new truck or car?? Something for the house?? A new blow-up doll?? ;D Is it something work related? Maybe a new sound system for the house...? A bigger HD TV?? A promotion?? A new guy??? My curiosity is piqued!!

Well here it is...... Today I brought home my first German Shepherd! He's not a work dog, but I'm still very excited about him. I named him Baker, after my buddy Jason. He's already making me lose my hair a little bit. He is 1.5 yrs. old and very high strung, so he's a big challenge for me since I haven't had a dog before. He seems to behave relatively well outside, but inside he seems to get more hyper. I had to take the bed out of his crate cause he was beginning to shred it. hehehe Hopefully he will settle in well after a couple days...hopefully. *fingers crossed* I'm about to take him for a walk before I have to get ready for work. Hopefully he does ok tonight, being his first night alone here. Though I do plan to stop by once or twice during the shift to check on him. I asked the Sgt. last night to put me in an area tonight where it wouldnt be a problem to check on him. The Sgt. used to be a K9 handler so she understands. Everyone wish me luck with Baker. He's sure to test my every will. But he will also bring me joy as well I'm sure.
