GOAL New England Loses One of its Own...
Received this message from Bobby Aldrich, President of GOAL New England..... Blue Pride extends it's condolences to GOAL New England and the family of Patrick Magnan.....
It is with deep sadness and great regret that I write to inform the membership of the passing of long-time GOAL-New England member Patrick Magnan from Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Patrick was very young and passed away yesterday (Wednesday) after a two-week battle with sudden pneumonia for which he had been recently hospitalized for. Although we have not seen Patrick at the meetings recently Patrick was one of the constant attendees at the early meetings of the organization and was instrumental in GOAL-New England's advancement and progress over the years. He was always first to volunteer for committees and work projects and also took on the task of taking GOAL-New England to the internet years ago with the first website and e-mail address. Patrick served for several years on the board of directors and I had the privilege of serving with him during my first couple years in the organization. I had just recently received a call from Patrick about our upcoming conference and his interest in attending and helping out with whatever we needed him to do. His part in the organization as both a member, a worker and a past director will surely be missed.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Patrick's family and friends and especially his partner Sean Morrissey.
Arrangements have not yet been finalized but as soon as they are I will pass them along. I am not sure what role (if any) our organization will play in his services but I may be looking for members to attend, possibly in uniform, if requested by the family.

President, GOAL-New England
GOAL-New England is seeking members that are able to attend the calling hours and funeral for member and former representative on the board of directors, Patrick Magnan, who passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday. Members are asked to attend the services in uniform (if applicable) to honor Patrick who spent many years as a regional animal control officer and reserve deputy sheriff for Worcester County and was currently employed as an EMS dispatcher for the Town of Shirley. The details of exactly what our organization will take part in and do at the calling hours and funeral will depend upon the number of members that respond and are available to attend. If you are available, please contact me.
