Florida Legal has come into the posession of three thousand condoms so we are putting together a condom distribution program in an effort to keep our community safe. We will be giving them out to as many bars and clubs as we can in Key West, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and other areas. All with the complements of Florida Legal.
Our goal is to make sure that everyone stays safe and plays safe while in paradise.

Now Carroll, I don't think its a good idea to pass out condoms that you have come into......  But no wonder why I've heard that FL LEGAL meetings are so much fun!  |

The truth is, I spent several months running a group counseling program for black men, on the down low, who don't identify as gay but have sex with men. They are known as MSM's or men who have sex with men. It's a long story but the fact is, many of them have girl friends and they trick with men on the side. Often they don't wear protection and, as a result, they have been known to bring HIV home to their female partners. The program was set up by the Sarasota Dept Of Health. When the funding dried up, I was left with all of these condoms that I used to give out on a regular basis. So now, I'm giving them away to our community. |

Hoosiercop, you don't know the half of it!! These black "down Low" idiots are so dumb, it's staggering. Most of them really think that if they're a top, they're not really gay. Some think they are only "kicking it" with other guys (what that means is anybodys guess). Many say that "gay" is a white mans term. They are not gay, they are men who have sex with men. Some are married and have children but have sex with lots of other black men on the side. They don't see themselves as part of the gay comunity because they are both socially and politically in the closet, and they want to stay there. In other words, they are not here for the pride, they are only here for the sex.
Many, many black women have been infected with HIV because of these men. They even have barebacking "thug" house parties where they will actually put people out who insist on wearing condoms. Indeed, the closet is not just a dark an lonley place, It's also a deadly place. Because so many of these people refuse to accept who they are, they put their lives, and the lives of others, at risk.
I think It's important to note that the "down Low" is not only found in the black community. It's found in every community. But, according to the casual research that I've done, blacks are over represented in the HIV statistics. Blacks are twelve percent of the American population, and yet they make up over fifty percent of new recorded infections. That means that blacks don't follow safe sex guidelines, on the "down Low" or not. I guess that self loathing teaches you to do all kinds of distructive things.
The closet is a killer and people who are on the "Down Low" are all in the closet. No matter how they try to justify their thougths and ideas, they all miss one simple thing, and thst's No Glove, No Love.
